Don't go talking about retirement to the members of the AC/DC rock band. Though getting on in years, the boys are still keen to play on stage and tour and basically just do rock stuff.

After some months ago it was rumored that the band was splitting up and going into retirement because of an undisclosed illness of one of its members that left him unable to play, today we're hearing from the man himself, Brian Johnson, frontman for the band, that the Australians aren't just yet hanging up their instruments.

On his Racing website, Brian, who's also a car nut, tells his fans that he won't be able to make further episodes for his automotive show “Cars That Rock” because he's going to hit the road with the rest of the boys, going on tour.

The announcement reads, “We hope to bring you more shows in the near future but, of course, there is the slight distraction of my day job with AC/DC – and it looks very likely that we will be on the road again before the end of the year. So stand by for more music – and more Cars That Rock. thanks – Brian.”

While car fans won't be happy to hear that, music fans will be over the moon to know that AC/DC is taking to the road again. In April, Malcolm Young was said to be stepping down from the band after four decades due to an undisclosed illness.

At the same time, it surfaced that all of the boys made a pact years ago that if one of them was ever going to leave the group for whatever reason, he wouldn't be replaced and the rest would go into forced retirement out of respect.

However, in an official statement released on the band's Facebook page, it was explained that Malcolm was merely taking a break and that he would be returning to the lineup as soon as his health permitted it.

“After 40 years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health,” read the official post.

Fans were told not to worry because the band would live on: “Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support. In light of this news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family’s privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music.”
