Brian Fargo, the leader of the development team at inXile, says that his Wasteland 2 project would not have existed had it not been for Kickstarter, the crowd funding site.

He tells VG247 that, “I could never have raised money from the venture capitalists to do what I’m doing. It just wouldn’t have happened.”

Fargo also believes that Kickstarter has a bright future ahead and can help developers create interesting video games.

He adds, “I don’t see it going away, it’s still in a growth period, it’s just that like all entertainment medium, the filtering is going to get tighter.”

He also says that developers who lack experience should try to create at least one title using conventional means before trying to ask fans for resources for a new game.

Wasteland 2 is expected to arrive late during 2013.
