Bret Michaels Rushed to the Hospital with Brain Hemorrhage

Rocker is reportedly in critical condition at an undisclosed location

Earlier this month, former Poison frontman Bret Michaels was rushed to the hospital for an appendectomy, resulting in a prolonged hospital stay. The other day, the rocker was again rushed to the ER in critical condition, after complaining of severe headache: upon arrival, it was established he was suffering from brain hemorrhage, People magazine has learned.

The two conditions don’t seem to be related, it is also being said. For the time being, Michaels is under treatment at an undisclosed location and medical staff is not saying anything on his state presumably until they can stop the bleed. Reps for the rocker have confirmed that the reports now making the rounds in the media are accurate, but they would not offer more on his condition, pending a statement from his doctors.

“After an excruciating headache late Thursday night, the star was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where doctors discovered he suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem), according to a source close to the situation. Michaels, 47, is currently in critical condition. ‘After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation,’ the source says,” People writes.

“Reps confirm this report is accurate, and tell People, ‘We will have no additional information until further testing is done.’ The rocker’s latest hospital visit follows his emergency appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12. There is no word yet whether this new development is related to the rocker’s recent appendectomy or to his diabetes. After his appendectomy, Michaels remained in the hospital under his doctors’ care – then transferred to a rehab facility specializing in diabetic patients,” the mag further informs.

As word of this continues to spread online, TMZ claims to be very close to leaning the facility where Michaels is right now. Moreover, the paparazzi agency and celebrity gossip website has also spoken to some doctors (who never treated the rocker and are not acquainted with him) and learned that, if everything goes well and Michaels recovers, he will have to be closely monitored in case a second bleed occurs.
