To think that AMC was considering pulling the plug on “Breaking Bad” only a couple of years ago, before the fifth, 2-part and final season was greenlit. The last episode of the series, “Felina” got record ratings, EW reports.

Figures indicate that 10.3 million fans tuned in to see how Walter White’s journey ended on Sunday’s last episode – and that’s before DVR numbers are included.

For the sake of comparison, the fourth season got only 1.9 million views. The first part of the fifth debuted with 2.93 million, while the second part opened with 5.92 million views.

Ratings only got better from then on, with the episode before last setting a new record, with 6.58 million.

So, yes, if you too were thinking the series finale would literally make a killing in the ratings, you were absolutely right.

Good bye, Mr. Walter White.
