Before a rumored Saul Goodman spinoff premieres on AMC, Sony Pictures Television will air a Spanish-language “Breaking Bad” adaptation called “Metastasis,” The Wrap confirms.

Rumors of the adaptation have been making the rounds for some time now, having been officially confirmed a short while ago.

At first sight, “Metastasis” doesn’t differ all that much from the groundbreaking “Breaking Bad,” in that it too will tell the story of a chemistry teacher who, diagnosed with terminal cancer, turns to the bad side and starts cooking meth to leave some money to his wife and kids.

Diego Trujillo will play Walter Blanco, while Roberto Urbina will be his partner, Jose Miguel Rosas. Sandra Reyes has been cast as Blanco’s wife Cielo, and Julian Arango as Walter’s FBI agent brother-in-law Henry Navarro.

“Metastasis” will launch in 2014. The final episodes of AMC’s “Breaking Bad” start airing this August.
