Sunday’s episode of AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” the first of the final 8, included a silent tribute to Kevin Cardasco. The name shouldn’t ring a bell – but his story certainly will move you.

Kevin was a 16-year-old “Breaking Bad” superfan who died this spring after a 6-year battle with a form of cancer known as neuroblastoma, uproxx informs.

He, more than the majority of fans of the show, knew best what fictional character Walter White (Bryan Cranston) went through when he learned he was dying of lung cancer and, desperate not to leave his family in debt, turned to a life of crime to provide for them.

According to the e-zine, Kevin’s family did their best to get him to meet some of the people working on the show, including Cranston himself and co-stars Anna Gunn and Bob Odenkirk, as the photo above can also confirm.

Kevin also met series creator Vince Gilligan and, moved by his case, Gillian offered to do something he hadn’t even considered before: he told the boy he could get a script to find out how the series ended, on the condition that he didn’t tell anyone.

Kevin refused, telling Gillian that he wanted to see the series finale as everyone else and not know the ending beforehand. He never got the chance to see it but his family says they will watch it as if he was still with them.
