The Brazilian coach is still keeping his promise concerning the World Cup preparations of the "Carioca" team. Carlos Alberto Parreira has tested his players another time in Switzerland, when Brazil had to play second-league team Lucerne. The score, considered to have been quite unimportant, was 8-0.
And of course it was unimportant, since the main target for Parreira is not to make his players sweat it off before the World Cup, but to relax and enjoy playing football, after a full season for most of them.
Goals
from Ronaldo, Adriano, Lucio, Juninho, Robinho and Kaka made the match seem like a practice session for the Brazilians. Most importantly, though, Parreira made sure that Ronaldo is in no danger at all after his superficial injury suffered last week.
"It was a training session which achieved what we wanted. It's the first time for eight months this team has played a game in front of a crowd, live television and wearing the yellow shirt. It was time for the players to get to know each other again. This was the eighth day of our preparation and it is still very early", said the Brazilian coach. Even if not many experts agree with his choice, most of the players are agreed that this is the best solution to get the hang of the German competition, even if the teams they meet are not so strong.
"It's not really normal to play a club side so we don't analyse the result, just as we don't analyse the result of a training session. But today we wore the yellow shirt and we had the responsibility of having to win. It's a privilege, it's not the same as playing another national team but it's still a Brazil game", said AC Milan's Kaka.
The last friendly Brazil will play until their opener against Croatia will take place on Sunday, in Geneva. The "Carioca" team will face New Zeeland.
