It was supposed to be a very intimate affair, one which only close friends and family members would attend, but the wedding ceremony of glamor model Katie Price and cagefighter Alex Reid turned into a violent scene. Photographers eager to snap the celebrities entering the church and the bodyguards paid to prevent them from doing so got into a scuffle, which only ended when police arrived on the scene, the Daily Mail reports.

The incident occurred only shortly before the bride and groom walked into the church to say their vows for the second time – Katie and Alex were married the first time in February this year, after only 7 months of dating, in a Las Vegas quickie that even took Reid by surprise. This time around though, they planned on making it a more elaborate affair that would see the people who matter the most to them also present. While that still turned out to be the case, the event started off on the wrong footing, with a violent brawl requiring police intervention.

“They had been planning a low-key wedding blessing in front of family and friends. But Katie Price and Alex Reid's big day descended into violence this afternoon as police were called after scuffles broke out between photographers and security guards. The scuffles began as Katie arrived at St Paul's Church in Woldingham, Surrey, in a replica black A-Team van, with security using sheets to stop photographers getting any pictures,” the Mail says of the incident.

“A spokesman for Price said the scuffles involved 'people trying to enter Katie Price's car at today's ceremony. She is understandably shaken and upset by the actions of these people but is now looking to enjoy the rest of her day with her close friends and family.' Surrey Police spokesperson confirmed: 'We have been advised of an alleged assault outside the church which we are currently looking in to.' Guests at the church were reportedly asked to sign confidentiality agreements and to hand in their mobile phones at the door as they attended the lavish church ceremony,” the same publication further writes.

The reason why Price and Reid went all out of their way to prevent anyone from taking pictures or shooting video before, during and after the event is that it’s supposed to be an exclusive for an episode of the model’s latest reality show, it is being said. Moreover, Katie Price may have also brokered a deal with a media outlet for exclusive images of the wedding, which would also explain why no one else was allowed to have even a camera phone.
