It's basically about greeting cards

Brickhouse is Yahoo!'s golden hen when it comes to ideas, they've recently come up with the very promising FireEagle, a platform for leveraging location information that seems to hit the perfect spot in the market, filling one gap that shouldn't have been there, or at least should have been plugged earlier: that of geo tracking.

While that was a good thing, they must have kicked back and had a beer while they let their newest employee, who wasn't familiar with the ropes, do all the thinking and the planning for their next project: BravoNation. It's a site that allows its users to send what can be roughly named greeting cards, based on a currency that limits the number of cards that can be sent at one time. Don't fret, if you thought that this was a good idea and you were worried that the number of online cards might be limited by the amount of Bravo Bucks (or Bruckos for short) supplied by default, be certain that your account will be refilled in 8 hours.

I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish with the refill and by not granting unlimited cards to everybody. Do they think that the idea will be a smashing hit and that their servers will be swarming with greetings waiting to be sent? Not likely.

Anyway, your options for sending one range from "You're my best friend" to "Thanks for saving me from that creepy date!" or you could use a basic Flash tool that allows you to draw your own image and, soon to come, users will be able to upload their images, too.

At the moment, this project is in private beta, so you'll need an invitation to join it, but if you're curious, look at the card received by Michael Arrington, of TechCrunch.com, from Salim Ismail, the head of Brickhouse. There, are you curious about it or does it remind you slightly of hi5, but with better graphics?
