The Brangelina couple is said to be promptly turning its back on the States and flee to Europe. OK, it's a short sentence but I see at least two questions begging to be asked in the aftermath of this purely informative piece of news.
First, why leave the States? The press there loves these two and their clan of well-adjusted (if a little harassed) kids. They make for such nice, diverse news, especially when Brad and Ange decide to play the "normal" parents and do all the things "normal" parents do - like pick their kids up from school - and manage to stop traffic in the process. And question number two, why Europe? Are there no reporters and photographers there? Well, here are some answers.
There seems to be a nice, poetic and even metaphoric answer for the "why Europe" question. Apparently, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are looking for a house in Europe because they want their four children to have a "broad vision of the world", as Brad himself commented in an interview published this Sunday.
"While we are very nomadic, we would like to have a base in Europe. More attention is paid here to what is going on in the world and it is easier to get to Africa and Asia from here", Brad stated for the weekly magazine supplement of the ABC newspaper. "We want our children to have a broad vision of the world. Spain, Italy and France have lots of quality of life and that is healthy", the actor added.
Yes, this is going to be very interesting. The Brangelina crazy train hits Europe - now that's a headline for you! And when I say "crazy train", I don't mean the actor, his beautiful and thin companion Miss Jolie and their brood (Cambodian son Maddox, six; three-year-old Vietnamese son Pax; two-year-old Ethiopian daughter Zahara and 16-month-old biological daughter Shiloh), but the media frenzy they seem to cause wherever they decide to show up. And just to make things more interesting, Pitt added that Angelina and himself are keen on adopting more children.
"We still have not finished. We are very lucky to have the means to give someone an opportunity. But it is more than that. I can't imagine my life without our children. If someone is thinking of adopting, I couldn't encourage them more".
Yes, well, that all sounds very nice, but just imagine Brad and Angie with the added bonus of a few extra kids in tow trailing across Europe. We should have an international agency appointed to protect the peoples of Europe from the angry horde of invading paparazzi that will be dogging the couple's every move. This could turn into a battle of epic proportions - "Brangelina" versus "The media". Somebody, quick, call Peter Jackson. Or I hear James Cameron is available?
