This just goes to show that there's never smoke without a fire: the blogosphere has been covering this story ever since last weekend, when rumor had it that Angelina and Brad Pitt's visit to Vietnam might also include picking up a new member for their continuously expanding family. However, the rumor was quickly infirmed by both the actors' representatives and the people from the orphanage from where they reportedly planned of taking the baby.
'Brad and Angelina have not been back to our orphanage since their visit in November. I'd only wish that they were adopting from us! There are many orphanages in Vietnam that they could adopt from, but it certainly is not us.', a spokesperson for the Tam Bink orphanage (in Ho Chin Minh City) said, trying to dispel the speculation that the celebrity couple had already decided on them as the perfect place from where to adopt.
Considering what Madonna went through a while ago and how strongly Angelina Jolie criticized her for not going through all the proper legal stages, it is no wonder that the latter chose to remain silent on the adoption procedures until everything was certain and all the details were taken care of. The top adoption official in Vietnam just confirmed to the Associated Press that the 'Tomb Raider' star has filed all the documents necessary to adopt a little boy from the aforementioned orphanage.
Apparently, Angelina has applied for adoption at Vietnam's International Adoption Agency as a single parent. Word has it that Brad Pitt will probably adopt the new member after a while, somehow in the same way he did with Maddox and Zahara. 'She just filed the papers this week', the director of a national agency (that represents Angie) said. However, he refrained from offering more details on the proceedings.
As superfluous as it might seem, maybe we should mention that Brad and Angelina are already parents of three: Maddox - 5 (adopted from Cambodia), Zahara - 2 (adopted from Ethiopia) and Shiloh (who was born to the couple last May).
