Prompted by Intel’s display of 2-1 devices with larger screens, most brand vendors have opted to increase development processes for what has come to be known as convertible all-in-one (AIO) PCs, say sources from the upstream supply chain cited by DigiTimes.

The devices showcased by the chip maker featured a design concept similar to 2-1 machines, but with larger displays of 18 to 27 inches. It also appears that the most popular sizes on which big brands are concentrating at the moment are the 20- to 21-inch ones.

Some companies have already pushed out several models that fit into the category. Take for example Sony who has the Vaio Tap 21 out, a 21-inch beast featuring an IPS display. HP also unleashed the 20-inch Envy Rose 20 AIO PC last month, following in the footsteps of Asus and Lenovo.

The preferred operating system for the AIO PCs turns out to be Android, and the devices are targeted for entertainment seeking customers.
