At the beginning of the year, the first teaser trailer for one of the most anticipated movies of the year, the remake “The A-Team,” dropped. Aside from lots of action scenes, the trailer also included a short segment that saw Bradley Cooper sans shirt and rocking some seriously buffed pecs and ripped abs.

In fact, Cooper looked so good he couldn’t believe his own eyes when he saw the trailer for the first time, he says in a new interview with Details magazine, as cited by AceShowbiz. Of course, he knew he’d been working out (the real mystery would have been if he didn’t) but he simply had no idea he looked that good. Add some post-production work, smart lighting and, one might assume, body makeup, and one can understand why Bradley was surprised by his own toned physique.

“Bradley Cooper transformed his body so dramatically for his shirtless scenes in ‘The A-Team’ movie, he was adamant his head had been superimposed on a model’s body when watching the action back. ‘The Hangover’ star is playing Lieutenant Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck for the big screen version of the hit 1980s show, and cut out all sugar and salt from his diet while beefing up for the role. After filming a fight scene with co-star Liam Neeson, director Joe Carnahan called Cooper over to watch the clip – and the star couldn’t believe how buff he looked on camera,” the aforementioned e-zine says.

“I had to literally transform my body. As the movie progressed, I got in increasingly better shape. There’s this one fight scene with Liam Neeson toward the end, where it’s, like, the apex of the work. We finished and Joe’s like, ‘Brother, come here, look at this,’ and he played it back, and I swear to God, it looked like my head was digitally superimposed onto someone else’s body. I was like, ‘This cannot be me – that’s the way I look?’ It was so [expletive]ing surreal, because as a kid I only fantasized about looking that way,” the actor himself explains for Details.

“The A-Team,” based on the classic ‘80s television show, also stars Liam Neeson and Jessica Biel, and will arrive in theaters on June 11 this year. No wonder Cooper’s impressive physique will have a say in the number of women going to see the film, which is basically gearing towards the male, action loving segment of the audience – just like it happened with “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” and Jake Gyllenhaal as well.
