Brad Pitt's Mom Buys Angelina Jolie a Bible with Her Name on It

Brad Pitt's mother, the strict conservative Jane Pitt, is out to “save” her future daughter in law Angelina Jolie. She recently bought a Bible for her and even had her name written on it, several ongoing reports suggest.

Both The National Enquirer and InTouch Weekly claim in their latest print issues (story via CB) that Jane went out to buy a present for Angelina and ended up ordering a Bible for her.

She even went through the trouble of having it personalized, by asking to put Angelina's name on it.

Jane Pitt is known as a very religious woman. In fact, just a short while ago, she made headlines for penning an anti-gay, anti-abortion and anti-Obama letter, based on her religious beliefs.

“Jane bought the Good Book a couple of weeks ago to help save Angelina’s soul and bring her closer to God, but it’s turned into a disaster,” an insider tells the Enquirer.

Admittedly, Angelina did not appreciate the gift because she believed it implied she needed it – or that she needed saving.

“Kristopher Burnett, a sales clerk at Mardel Christian Bookstore in Springfield, Mo., told The Enquirer that he sold Jane the Bible and prayed with her for Brad and Angelina’s well-being. But after Angie heard about Jane’s prayer, she went crazy! Angelina, who was raised Catholic but adheres to no specific faith, took offense because it implied that she needed saving,” the Enquirer explains.

Mr. Burnett also confirms for InTouch that Mrs. Pitt bought the book and that the two of them prayed over it, “asking the Lord to lead the way in Brad and Angelina's life.”

Brad's mother might have thought that such a present would help her future daughter in law find God but, instead, it just made matters worse between the two.

“Angelina was already furious with Jane, so this just added insult to injury,” the spy dishes.

“Angelina has always felt Jane looked down on her for [her] lifestyle, previous drug use and for being 'the other woman' in Brad’s marriage to Jennifer Aniston. If Brad doesn’t mediate soon, it’s going to totally sabotage his relationship with Angelina and his family,” the insider goes on to say.
