Brad Pitt and the Kids Nearly Run into Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux

It could have been one of the most awkward and talked about encounters ever in celebrity world. Over the weekend, Brad Pitt took 4 of his 6 children with Angelina Jolie to the movies – and nearly ran into ex Jennifer Aniston and her current beau, Justin Theroux.

Even so many years after their divorce, Brad and Jennifer continue to polarize the fans at home and to generate massive sales for tabloids.

It's a fact that the Brad-Jennifer-Angelina triangle (now with a side dish of Theroux) will continue to grab headlines for years to come, so it's no wonder a meeting between the exes is also proving of great interest.

Us Weekly says one such meeting nearly happened over the weekend.

“Pitt, 47, took four of his children with Angelina Jolie – Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 6, and Shiloh, 5 – to see the 2:00 showing of Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, starring Chloe Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen and Jude Law,” the celebrity e-zine says.

When they came out of the screening, they nearly ran into Aniston and Theroux, who were just arriving.

“Once the family flick ended, Pitt and his brood headed to the parking garage just as Aniston, 42, and current love Justin Theroux entered the theater for a later showing,” says the e-zine.

“Justin and Jennifer skipped the popcorn and went straight in. Like five minutes later, Brad and the kids came out of the theater. They just missed each other!” an unnamed source is quoted as saying.

Had they met, it would have been an awkward moment for both, especially since they haven't kept in touch since the much mediated divorce.

“They don’t talk. She will always think of him as a jerk,” another insider dishes for the same publication.

Since the divorce, Brad and Jennifer were in the same room, at the same public event just twice, according to various media reports: at Oscars 2009 and at the Hope for Haiti telethon in 2010.

Neither time did they actually cross paths.
