A little over a week ago, word got out in the media, via a British tabloid that claimed to get its information from a very reliable source, that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had decided to
go their separate ways and that they had even seen a divorce attorney in preparation for the split. Until the other night, the couple refused to make any kind of statement regarding the rumors, when they finally emerged and attended the Directors Guild of America awards, as
USA Today informs.
Brangelina has always been a couple very keen on their privacy so it’s perhaps no small wonder that, now too, they refused to take questions from the media. Not only that, but they even refused to do the red carpet together and to pose for pictures, perhaps knowing for certain that such a thing would inevitably trigger a wave of questions they did not want to hear, let alone answer. However, videos taken during the awards show that the two were seated together and acted very much like a couple throughout the event.
“Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were at Saturday night’s Directors Guild of America awards in L.A., but they didn’t walk the red carpet. Pitt was on stage to praise Quentin Tarantino, reports USA Today’s Scott Bowles. ‘He’s a man who believes in the power of film. If film is a religion, he is the apostle and the movie set is his church,’ Pitt said. ‘Every once in a while, when you get the perfect take, he’ll shout out, “Genius!”... I never got that’,” USA Today writes.
“People quotes an onlooker as saying the two were ‘giggly’ and ‘having a fun time.’
TMZ came up with a split-second shot of them at their table with Tarantino. While Pitt spoke on stage, Angelina sat and smiled,” the same publication further writes. And, indeed, in the videos surfaced in the meantime, the two can be seen laughing and acting very much like they’re still together.
As we
also reported over the past week,
the rumor that started it all said that the two had decided to go their separate ways. Since they were not married and they shared the custody of six children, they had to make some provisions for them, which is why they went ahead and met with the divorce attorney.
