Brad Pitt Outbids DiCaprio for Film Rights

In 2003, Max Brooks wrote a horror novel called 'Zombie Survival Guide' that was published instantly and became a real hit in bookstores all over the US. The action is set 10 years after an apocalypse that turns every human being into flesh-eating zombies... you know the drill, you've seen and heard it a thousand times!

The catch is that Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio's labels went through a ferocious bidding war in order to get the film rights for said novel. The movie will be titled 'World War Z', if it ever gets to be produced.

Plan B and Appian Ways, the two actors' label, supported by Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. have been bidding for two days now, head to head. Today, the winner was declared to be Plan B, Pitt's label, that reportedly paid a six figure sum for the movie rights, which is likely to become a seven figure one if the film manages to be produced.

We don't know yet if handsome, number 1 father is to star in the horror film, but sources claim that the bidding ended in good terms, without hard feelings on either side. A good reason for this would be the fact that DiCaprio is currently starring in 'The Departed', directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Pitt himself.
