There is no longer a trace of doubt that, when it comes to today’s most beloved onscreen characters, Edward Cullen of “The Twilight Saga” comes on top, especially with a particular age segment. However, in an imaginary competition between the vampires of all times, Edward only comes in second, as indicate the results of an online poll by Wenn, cited by AceShowbiz.

The ayes have it: the hottest and most beloved vampire of all times is not Edward, as played by Robert Pattinson in “Twilight,” but Louis de Pointe du Lac, as portrayed by Brad Pitt in “Interview with the Vampire.” Wenn came up with the idea of the poll, bent on determining which is the most popular bloodsucker in the history of cinematography and, even if Edward did not win, he did not lose by a lot, if that’s any consolation for Twi-hards.

“Brad Pitt has shown his teeth and ‘bitten’ Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson in a poll to find the hottest Hollywood vampire. Pitt’s Louis de Pointe du Lac from 1994’s ‘Interview with the Vampire’ has earned him the top spot in a new WENN monster list, putting him just ahead of Pattinson by a handful of votes,” AceShowbiz says of the findings of the only poll. Again, if it’s any consolation for “Twilight” fans, the poll did not include that many voters as to make it impossible to contest.

“Pitt scored 44 per cent of the 1,000-plus votes, just one per cent more than Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise. Kiefer Sutherland came in third for his role as a neck-biting teenage tearaway in The Lost Boys, ahead of Dracula star Gary Oldman and Blade’s Wesley Snipes,” the publication further says. No word yet where Pitt’s co-star in the iconic movie, Tom Cruise (Lestat de Lioncourt) placed on the list, but many voices are already saying he should have come first, or at least in the first 3 positions.

Speaking of polls that are not impossible to contest, another one, conducted in October last year, had Pattinson as the hottest movie vampire of all times. Back then, about 3,000 moviegoers voted: Edward Cullen was at the number one spot, followed by Christopher Lee’s Dracula, Wesley Snipe’s Blade, Tom Cruise’s Lestat and Gary Oldman’s Dracula.
