An inside source notes that Pitt was trying to send a message about Jolie’s bad breath

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have celebrated Valentine's day in their unique way, with Pitt gifting his beloved a pack of “Eat Whatever” breath-freshening gel caps and mints.

Even as 49-year-old Pitt is apparently always complaining about his wife's bad breath, the gift is a joke, an insider tells US Weekly.

“It is sort of a joke - and not. [...] He always teases her that she has bad breath. […] It's a joke gift . . . he'll also get her something more serious,” the source notes.

In the past, Jolie has dished out millions on gifts for her beau, including a $1.6 million (€1.2 million) helicopter in spring 2012.

“We built a family. He is not just the love my life, he is my family. I hold that very dear. I suppose what I’ve learned from Brad is to be able to have the kind of family whose happiness and well-being comes before your own. I’m very very grateful to have such a loving family, and I wouldn’t have that without him,” she described for Marie Claire in a 2011 interview.

This Valentine's day, Pitt picked out a vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free product for his girlfriend of almost eight years.

The Brangelina couple is set on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and is even starting a new organic wine venture together. As we reported earlier, they are getting ready to launch their own brand in spring this year.

“They [Brad and Angelina] are very demanding in seeking excellence in the quality and character of their wine. [...] We talked a lot and did the first harvest together,” says French winegrower Marc Perrin, closely involved in the project.

Their first bottles of pink rosé will be named Miraval, after the couple's vineyard estate in Southwestern France. The wine is set to make its debut in the States on March 15, elegantly packaged and branded “Bottled by Jolie-Pitt and Perrin.”
