As reports about the crumbling affair between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue to make the rounds in the blogosphere and the tabloid media, a new rumor emerges. As many expected, Brad has renewed contact with his former wife following a couple of drunken calls to complain about how bad things with Angelina are going,
Now Magazine writes, citing sources from the inside.
Brad, just like any other man out there, or like all people who ever wanted to get back with their exes and could not find a good excuse to ring them up, first used the “I’m so drunk I don’t even know how I ended up dialing your number” trick, the mag says. He apologized to Aniston for behaving so badly towards her and for going behind her back with Angie, and she, on her part, accepted that he was sorry and even to speak with him again.
“According to well-placed sources, Brad, 45, called Jen from a New York hotel on 7 April and begged her forgiveness for walking out on their five-year marriage in 2005. ‘She was initially taken aback – especially as he sounded drunk and sorry for himself,’ says a source close to Jen. ‘He told her he misses her and that he’s sorry for any hurt caused. Jen being Jen immediately told him she’d never held a grudge against him and would welcome them being friends again, so long as she doesn’t have to be friends with Angelina. He agreed’.” the aforementioned publication writes.
Apparently, since that night, the two exes have been keeping in contact and even going out for a few friendly “dates” as well. All signs point to a certain reconciliation, the magazine claims, especially since this truce comes in a context in which Brad and Angelina hardly see eye to eye – or each other, for that matter. Still, Jolie is reportedly aware that things can only go downhill from hereon, but she’s lost all will to fight for their relationship, the same insiders tell the magazine.
“She came out of her trailer looking like she’d been crying.” the spy says about how Angelina was on set of her film, a day after Brad first met with Jennifer. “She had red eyes with big bags under them. She’d stopped going back to the family’s rental home [in Long Island] and was sleeping at a hotel in town. She never brought her kids or Brad to the set, even though her co-stars did. There’s even talk that she’s been taking caffeine tablets as she’s in such a bad way. Angie has been in some pretty dark places in her life, and now it’s as bad as it’s ever been.” the insider concludes by saying.
A rep for Jennifer Aniston has already denied that his client has regular meetings with Brad Pitt, while spokespersons for the Jolie-Pitt couple insist their relationship is just fine.
