Here are four variants of scammy emails you should look out for

Customers of Belgium’s Bpost Bank are advised to be on the lookout for malicious emails designed to trick them into handing over their personal and financial information.

Researchers from MX Lab have spotted four variants of phishing emails designed to lure internauts to bogus Bpost Bank websites.

The fake notifications appear to come from “bpost.be” or “bpostbank.be” email addresses and they’re entitled something like “Transaction Notification,” “Your account is temporary limited” or “Bpost Banking Update.”

All the emails contain links that lead to phishing websites hosted on various domains.

Here are the four types of Bpost Bank phishing emails you should look out for.

Variant 1.

"Dear customer Bpost Bank,

We are now working with a new security system. This new system ensures that there is no abuse can be made from your account by eg malicious software or a virus that is installed on your computer.

To ensure that your account is protected by our new system, please follow below once and then verifying your information.

Click this

Once you've done this, you will be contacted be contacted within 24 hours to complete the whole process. By one of our staff."

Variant 2.

"Dear Client BPOST

Please note that threatens BPOST online access to your account to expire. To actively maintain your access to the Online BPOST please login asap. Use the link below to proceed and access to access your account.

Click here

BPOST With online access, you can perform most of your banking transactions. All you need is to sign up for online banking.  products and services."

Variant 3.

"Bpost Dear customer,

Your account has expired. To stay active, log in below to activate your account now.

Secure My Account Now

Important notice: It is strongly to your account information is correct to avoid service denial, will not have to result in an immediate suspension of the account for security reasons.

Note: For security reasons, we will record your IP address, the date and time."

Variant 4.

"Dear customer bpost bank

We are now working with a new security system. This system ensures that no abuse can be made from your account by eg malicious software or a virus that is installed on your computer.

There is a chance that your account can not perform certain functions at this time because of the new security software, such as online payments out.

To ensure that your account is also protected, we ask you to follow and then verifying your information."
