Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are, without a doubt, the most mediated couple at NASCAR but, as it happens, sparks between the two also fly on the circuit. Check out the video above to see what I mean by that.
During the Coca-Cola 600 race, Stenhouse slid into Patrick ever so lightly. At the same time, Brad Keselowski cut her off, and they both hit a wall.
While Keselowski’s car was totaled, Patrick was able to continue, USA Today reports, coming in on the 29th position.
Stenhouse was 14th.
“I was three-wide with Danica and didn't know it, and I cut her off and wrecked her and myself. I feel bad for her and I send my apologies to her,” Keselowski said after the race, taking full responsibility for the crash.
Patrick did not talk to the press but she issued a statement through her people afterwards.
“I felt like we were making real progress and starting to get the car to a place that was really good, and had an accident, which is unfortunate because we were moving up. But nothing we can do about it now,” she says.
