The website that proclaimed to aim to bring the Kardashian empire down with the help of all those who have grown tired of seeing them basically everywhere, is run by an ex con. Frank Basti has a track record of fraud, it has emerged.

That Kim is at war with the website that threatens to make her irrelevant again with the help of the people is not exactly news, since she had her attorneys try to shut it down a while ago.

However, it seems that she's digging up some unconventional tools in said war: TMZ, one of the many pro-Kardashian publications (allegedly), is taking a swipe at the credibility of the founder of the website BoycottKim.com.

Frank Basti, the celebrity e-zine writes, is an ex con with a history of fraud. As such, there's no way of knowing whether he's speaking the truth when he's saying he's not making any money off the site.

“Frank Basti – the man behind the movement – is freshly off parole for a mail fraud conviction. Basti was nailed for sending notices to 5,000 California car dealerships, telling each of them they owed lots of money to the DMV and this was their final chance to pay... or else,” the e-zine writes.

“Basti served federal prison time and was on parole until last July. Several months later Basti launched the Kardashian website,” TMZ adds, hinting that there might be a connection between the two.

Moreover, the celebrity publication writes, chances are that Basti is lying about the range of his project.

“Basti claims roughly 650,000 people have signed his petition. But according to Compete.com – a prominent website traffic estimator – only 24k unique visitors went to the site in December and 20k in November,” TMZ writes.

Still, there's the strong chance that Kim is using TMZ to throw dirt at Basti and thus undermine the credibility of the boycott website, proclaimed to be a venue where all those fed up with the Kardashians can freely speak their mind – and take action to push her out of the spotlight.
