According to late news, singer Boy George has called the cops in the night of his cocaine arrest because a prostitute tried to rob him.

Boy George has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, allegedly more than five grams of cocaine, after his apartment from Manhattan, New York, was searched by police.

A source told America's New York Post newspaper: "George said no and said he was going to call the police. The prostitute said, 'Go ahead and you'll go to jail.' So George freaked out because he was high, called the police, the prostitute left, and George got arrested."

Boy George was arrested last week by policemen responding to a report of a burglary at his luxury Manhattan home, made by George at 3.15am (local time).

"The call was about a possible burglary. Police arrived there, and they saw in plain view an amount of cocaine near a computer. They also recovered another larger quantity of cocaine at the location," a police spokesman said.

He also mentioned there was a woman at the apartment, but did not describe her relationship to George.
