The Karma Chameleon star has flown back to the UK, two days after his arrest on drugs charges in New York.
The Culture Club singer, whose real name is George O'Dowd, charged with drug possession after the police have found illegal substances in his luxury mansion, refused to make any comments on the issue when he arrived at Heathrow Airport yesterday.
"I am not speaking to anybody about it," George, 44, told reporters. "Don't ask me any questions, because you are not going to get any answers at all."
His lawyer mentioned that the singer has hordes of friends who might have left the drugs in his apartment. "It was a small amount of drugs," Lou Freeman told the New York Post. "He doesn't know where it came from. He's had a lot of people in his house", the lawyer added.
According to a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney's office, George was released after being charged with possession of a controlled substance and falsely reporting an incident. It is alleged he had more than an eighth of an ounce (3.5g) of cocaine.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. The singer is scheduled to return to court on December 19.
