Box cloud storage service is well known among Android users as the application is now present on most devices that run Google’s operating system.

The good news is that Box decided to bring its cloud storage service to Windows Phone platform as well. Starting today, those who own smartphones powered by Microsoft’s mobile platform can download and install Box application.

With Box, users will be able to access their stored content while on the move or invite friends to already shared folders and leave comments on files for them.

In addition, developers introduced a useful Search option for Box users, which is accessible within the application’s account.

Search allows users to find important content in a matter of seconds. You just need to tap the search icon in the Application Bar and search for the file or folder that you wish.

File management is another nifty feature offered by Box for Windows Phone. It will provide users with the ability to quickly delete, name or move folders. Any of these actions can be done in bulk. There’s also a security feature included in the form of an application-specific passcode lock.

We designed our app to really take advantage of this platform’s unique characteristics and capabilities. You can pivot between files, updates and collaborators, start slideshows for images just like in the Pictures Hub and even pin Live Tiles to your Start screen to see when colleagues leave updates on Box,” said Simon Tan, product manager of Mobile, Box.

Aside English, the Windows Phone application supports the following languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese.

It is also worth mentioning that Box is working with Qualcomm to pre-load the application on select Windows Phone devices powered by Snapdragon processors.

The application is now available as a free download via Marketplace and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 7.5 and up. Check it out here.
