Spiders Studios' upcoming role playing game Bound by Flame has just got its official release date, arriving on May 9 to a computer system near you.

Bound by Flame puts players in the role of a character under demonic influence, challenging them to choose between the evil powers they are offered or rejecting the nefarious influence in favor of developing their own heroic talents.

The increasingly difficult enemies and the dangers that await at every step will increase the temptation to give in and become a victim of the demon's temptation, acquiring more power by giving up part of the hero's soul, the demonic influence starting to manifest itself visibly in the transformations the hero's body will suffer.

To celebrate the launch date announcement, the devs have also offered us a glimpse of what awaits once the game is out, by means of some new exclusive images portraying some of the fierce creatures that will have to be defeated during our numerous quests.

Players will have to confront an expansive and varied bestiary, with terrifying and deadly creatures conceived and brought to life by the talented French studio. Through spectacular real time and highly tactical battles, gamers will struggle to take down these behemoths by employing a vast arsenal tailored to take down the fearsome beasts.

The strategic depth of the game's combat system is derived from Bound by Flame's original bestiary, as each creature has specific attacks and special skills, as well as a particular individual behavior that will force players to adapt their tactics to the composition of the encountered group of enemies.

The deep combat and the wide assortment of strikes available to the player, the use of magic spells and the unique crafting system, all contribute to making Bound by Flame a stunningly complex game.

We already covered the recently revealed Bound by Flame crafting system, that players will rely on for progression throughout the game, allowing them both access to powerful offensive and defensive effects as well as detailed visual customization features.

The devs conclude the announcement by teasing their fans with an upcoming video dedicated to highlighting the unique and profound combat system they will make use of during their adventures in Bound by Flame.

Published by Focus Home Interactive, the new RPG Bound by Flame is currently scheduled for launch on May 9, landing on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PC platforms. Its North American launch and distribution will be handled by American publisher Majesco.
