Footage of the Boston Marathon explosions has emerged online, detailing the moment in which a bomb goes off near the finish line.

This video has been provided by a man named Steve Silva and uploaded to YouTube by The Boston Globe. The images have been captured on Boylston Street, the description reads.

The Telegraph mentions that the blast took place four hours after the race started, near the finish line.

The timing of the explosions shows that whoever is responsible may have targeted a large number of amateur marathon runners. The more experienced athletes had already finished the course.

As I wrote earlier, a mystery man has been spotted on a rooftop near the spot of the explosions. Many believe that he is responsible or somehow involved in the attack.

"We still don't know who did this or why. [...] Make no mistake: We will get to the bottom of this," president Obama said in a statement on the bombing.
