Evernote Food 2.2.1 becomes your hands-free cooking companion

I find the Evernote Food app to be a complete bore. Granted, I’m not much of a gourmand but, even if I loved food that much, I still wouldn’t waste time on this app. I’d much rather spend it stuffing my face.

But we’re not here to talk about how boring Evernote Food is. Even though I could rant for hours on the topic.

This post is about the new Evernote Food 2.2.1 update, which is sort of like your BFF giving you a much-needed makeover to finally get that guy to ask you to prom.

Evernote Food 2.2.1 is "your hands-free cooking companion," as the developers themselves put it.

Now you can put a recipe on screen and use the auto-lock feature to keep your device from going to sleep while you're cooking. Your iPad will thank you for keeping those greasy fingers off its Home button and on the frying pan.

You get more recipes with this new version, better PDF support for notes and recipes imported from Evernote, and Korean and Taiwanese recipe partners, Rimi & iCook.

I’m sure Apple will sue when they decide to finally launch a stove.

Version 2.2.1 also comes with Foursquare venue ratings in list view, improved restaurant search (by cuisine or other keywords), and more accurate search results of nearby places.

General fixes include an option to go Premium within the app, bug fixes, and overall performance improvements.

Evernote Food is now officially awesome! Go get it!
