Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel got a brand-new gameplay trailer with developer commentary released with the occasion of this year's E3 gaming convention, showing how to prance and shoot your way around Pandora's moon.

The video starts off by showing the low-gravity battles taking place on Pandora's moon, which is apparent when smashing stuff apart, watching how all the shattered pieces slowly float around.

The low-gravity environment makes for some interesting mechanics, such as being able to jump high into the air and then slam into enemies from above, freezing them along the way and crushing them into tiny fragments.

Wilhelm was a very dangerous boss in Borderlands 2, one of the biggest threats in the game, and now players will be able to man him for the first time, and depending on their choices, they will be able to gradually transform him into the man-machine hybrid that we all know and fear.

Players will be able to see how their choices impact him right away, in the menus and while playing, as he starts making use of his augmentations, of the various implants that severely alter his appearance.

The developers mentioned that players could expect to have new uniques and legendaries from missions and bosses, in addition to the expanded gun roster, with new elemental weapons and lasers, making for the most exciting loot collection game in the series.

Players will assume control of one of four entirely new characters and will explore the story of Handsome Jack's ascension to power, and see him in the days where he was just slightly unbalanced and a tad egomaniacal, before becoming a full-fledged psycho.

The plot will follow his origin story, focusing on his descent into villainy, and the best part about it is that you'll be one of his henchmen, aiding him in his escape and capture of the Hyperion moonbase.

All of the new vault hunters have made some sort of appearance in the games so far. Athena is a rogue assassin that can use a temporary shield to absorb damage, Wilhelm becomes the Bad Lieutenant kind of RoboCop that we know from Borderlands 2, Nisha "the Lawbringer" becomes the sheriff of Lynchwood, and Claptrap is... well... Rambo-ing stuff up under the Fragtrap alias.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will become available in North America on October 14, and worldwide on October 17, on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms.
