Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are on their way to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms, in the form of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

Gearbox has revealed that, when the announcement for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel came, a lot of players asked when the game would come to next-gen platforms. Well, the company has just sated the community's thirst for knowledge, by revealing that the game is coming this March.

Fans of the popular first-person role-playing game will be able to experience the ultimate Borderlands experience, as The Handsome Collection offers the complete story of the franchise's iconic villain, Handsome Jack.

The games will be delivered in stunning high definition, and for the first time, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will allow four players to enjoy split-screen local multiplayer together, meaning that you can get together with your friends and enjoy the crazy action on a single television.

The games will also support cross-save between the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita or Xbox 360 devices, which means that you'll be able to easily transfer the prior-gen saves, including all leveled-up characters, to either the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 (do note that the function only works within the same console family though).

The biggest Borderlands yet

Furthermore, not only does Borderlands: The Handsome Collection include both Borderlands 2 and the quirky-titled Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, it also includes a ton of extra stuff, in the form of all the downloadable content released for the titles so far.

This means that you'll be getting to play Borderlands 2 with extra characters such as Krieg the Psycho and Gaige the Mechromancer, as well as enjoy a wealth of character customization options and new campaign missions.

In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, you'll be able to play as the man everyone loves to hate, or at least one of his doppelgangers, which is good enough for any mere mortal, and Gearbox has also revealed that the game will be getting an additional campaign add-on and playable class, to be disclosed at a later date.

In addition to this, if you choose to get the extremely limited Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition, you'll get your hands on a remote-controlled Claptrap robot that even spews some of his most annoying lines, as well as on 12 exclusive Vault Hunter lithographs and a collectible steel case.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 computer entertainment systems on March 24 in North America and March 27 in the rest of the world.
