Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is rolling out as we speak worldwide and those who get the game on PS4 or Xbox One are in for a major day one update, which weighs in at 8GB on PS4 and a whopping 16GB on the Xbox One.

The Borderlands series has been around for quite some time and the first three titles appeared across PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 throughout the years. However, both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are now rolling out across the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, as part of the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

Huge updates are now available for download

The game is already out in North America and launches soon in Europe and other parts of the world and now Eurogamer confirms that absolutely massive day-one updates are now live for the game across PS4 and Xbox One, adding not just the Claptastic Voyage DLC, but also plenty of different fixes and improvements.

The PS4 version of the patch clocks in at 8GB in size, but Xbox One users are in for an even bigger download, as their edition of the update occupies a whopping 16GB of space.

A spokesperson for publisher 2K Games confirms that the updates add new DLC and address bugs that were solved after the games went gold and headed to disc printing, so those who've just bought The Handsome Collection are advised to not skip on the patch.

"For The Handsome Collection, a large day-one update will be available giving access to Claptastic Voyage and Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2. This update will also address various bugs. Although the update is large (as it's adding an entire and brand new add-on campaign), we strongly recommend that all players download it before playing The Handsome Collection," he says.
