14 DAY TRIAL // Borderlands: The Handsome Collection has just received a brand new update on the Xbox One platform, finally allowing owners of the old games on the Xbox 360 to transfer their save game progress to the new editions of Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection launched last month on the PS4 and Xbox One platforms, bringing forth remastered versions of Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel. Unfortunately, the title released with quite a few problems and major day-one updates awaited the collection on both consoles.
The Handsome Collection has a new update on Xbox One
Now, a new patch is available for the Xbox One for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which should finally allow veteran players to import their save game progress from the old games into the new ones.
One of the big selling points for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection was that those who played Borderlands 2 or The Pre-Sequel on PS3 or Xbox 360 were going to transfer their save game files, including unlockables and other such things, to the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the new game.
Unfortunately for Xbox One users, this feature was broken at launch, but through the latest patch, it finally seems to be working as intended.
According to the official website, players should be able to access the Cloud Save function from the main menu of The Handsome Collection and restore their customization and unlockable data.
If their ranks are higher in the original save game files than in their current playthrough, they'll be overwritten with the higher value.
Unfortunately, it seems that the import system doesn't take into account mission progression, so if you want to keep your current progress, you can select "Save as New" when re-downloading your save file after the update.
The new patch for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is already available for download on the Xbox Live service and should be automatically transferred the next time you start the game on Xbox One.
