Borderlands 2's upcoming PS Vita version has just received a first video showing actual gameplay footage from the new portable title, with someone actually controlling the game on the handheld console.

Borderlands 2 delighted millions of gamers from around the world back in 2012 when it appeared for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Developer Gearbox Software and Sony promised that a PS Vita version would also appear at some point in time but failed to offer any details for quite a long while.

Now we're getting close to the title's debut on the PS Vita next month and a video of someone playing the game at a recent convention has surfaced online, via AGB.

As you can see above, Borderlands 2 is running pretty well on Sony's portable console, maintaining a decent framerate. The visual quality is also quite good, although the footage isn't filming the console straight on.

The controls also seem rather good when shooting and moving about, especially since first-person shooters on the PS Vita have had mixed success when employing the two thumbsticks.

As of yet, however, there's still no actual release date for Borderlands 2 on the PS Vita, although Sony and Gearbox promised that it would launch in spring.
