Borderlands 2 was released last week and already Gearbox has started talking about the downloadable content that’s going to appear for the role-playing shooter, saying that, besides the add-ons that have already been confirmed via the Season Pass, more new things will be revealed.

Borderlands 2 has been awaited for quite some time and, while the general consensus is that the game is quite impressive, plenty of fans are now talking about the DLC that will be released for it, especially since the original set a standard with high quality expansions.

Developer Gearbox has already confirmed that a fifth playable character will soon be released, in the form of the Mechromancer, while a Season Pass bundle has also been revealed, which will include four major expansions that are set to appear until June 2013.

Now, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has revealed that the studio’s downloadable content plans don’t stop with the Season Pass bundle, as other add-ons will also be released for Borderlands 2.

"We will have other, non-season pass related DLC," Pitchford told Kotaku. "The stuff we're planning and working on for the Campaign DLC Season Pass is big DLC stuff - more like the original Borderlands' Knoxx."

Pitchford didn’t say just what this new content would be but he did hint that plenty of ideas were being explored by his team, including new types of vehicles.

"Since we finished the game we've started with some new ideas that we expect will show up in DLC," he added. "Some new vehicle types are on-deck."

The Mechromancer will be released sometime in October and will be free for those who have pre-ordered the game and got into the Premiere Club. Meanwhile, the Season Pass is available for $29.99/€29.99.

Expect to hear more about the new content for Borderlands 2 soon enough.
