Borderlands 2 has a few glitches

Borderlands 2 came out last week on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 and, while it’s pretty much a great game, quite a few issues have begun plaguing gamers across all three platforms. These include problems with the golden keys they got for pre-ordering, the tokens they received for completing challenges and, on the PC, glitches due to the storage of save game files on the Steam Cloud.

Borderlands 2 has been eagerly awaited by millions of gamers from all around the world and, as we pointed out in our review yesterday, it delivers an impressive experience that impresses both visually and in terms of gameplay, as developer Gearbox Software made some crucial changes in order to promote variety.

Sadly, it seems that quite a few issues have begun to plague Borderlands 2 players no matter the platform.

First and foremost are problems with the Golden Keys that were handed to those who pre-ordered the game. These items can be used one single time to open a golden chest in the city of Sanctuary. Some players claim that their keys suddenly vanished from their inventory while others demand new ones after they opened the chest without knowing that they couldn’t re-use the Golden Key.

While this issue isn’t so severe, other problems relate to the tokens offered for completing in-game challenges. According to some players, they have found their token count completely depleted despite the fact that their challenges appear to be finished.

Others found that the upgrades purchased with the tokens have been erased, meaning they lost their tokens and their newly acquired bonuses.

Last but not least, PC owners of Borderlands 2 are also complaining of Steam’s shoddy Cloud storage for save games, as they have often found that their progress wasn’t synched online, meaning that, when they played on another computer, they weren’t able to pick up where they had left off.

According to Gearbox, via CVG, its team is looking into all these problems and will try to solve them as fast as possible.

I can't say for certain that this is a result of trying to glitch the game, but I am aware of people who are already doing so in MP. One of my co workers saw an Xbox friend who was L 10, but had about 30 skill points already spent.

So apparently the Golden Chest is barely golden at all and there is no warning that you are about to use your only key to open this chest. Seriously...WTF kind of BS is that Gearbox?

I can only play with people on my friends list. If I try to play with other people it says no matches found...and that was a big deal to me seeing as that is my favorite part about playing...but today I made it to lvl 20 ..and when I went to play again my borderlands 2 data is corrupt...now I'm kinda afraid to start a new character because I don't want to invest anymore time until the bugs are fixed

great game, love playing it. Just one problem online during multiplayer mode on PS3. weapons dont appear when opening crates. soon after this little 'glitch' occurs, ammo wont spawn and enemies become invisible. Other than that, fantastic game

I never even got my golden key in my inventory. I did get the other upgrades but, I was really looking forward to getting to open the golden chest. That was until I read about the one time use thing.

Missiles to far (something like that) in Dust, I soaked the net with gas, but fire weapon will not ignite it. Had to start over because of this lame cloud save. First time I was able to set net on fire.

both myself and my co-op buddy have lost mission placement. more simply , we "Lost" our games. SSave games turn out to be from someone else. Our charectors are fine , all points are there, but missions are from someone else. stuff we have done , gone , stuff we have not done marked as complete , and set a good 5 levels above our chars. Very disapointed to lose your game , from now to the second playthrough, we are completeing someoen elses game.

Yes. Seems like if I don't complete an entire mission and save/quit, when I resume it sends me back to original checkpoint and any foes I previously defeated are alive and well. Frustrating.

I was playing online with a friend he quit and left a huge pile of worthless guns. I didn't have enough room in my invetory to store and sell so I dropped everything I had in a small room so I could pick it back up when I was done; I picked up the worthless pile and sold it, picked my guns back up got all of them. Then I went into the other room and watched a movie while the game was paused. I returned to the game to go on with my next mission I went into the room with the fast travel station and I turned around and saw the golden box I was so in awe I wanted look at because I was so excited to open it when I was level 50, I walk up to the box making sure that I didn't press square and the golden key said 0 and said I didn't have any, and then I was really sad. :(
