Valve has confirmed that Borderlands 2 is the latest game to support the Steam Trading Cards, joining titles like Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, or Don't Starve.

The Steam Trading Cards system entered closed beta earlier this month and Valve has begun sending invitations to lots of users of its digital distribution service.

At the beginning, only a few games support the system, like Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal 2, or Dota 2, but it seems that the number of games compatible with the system is growing, as Valve has confirmed that Borderlands 2 now supports the trading cards.

There are six different trading cards that can be unlocked either by playing the game or by trading them with others via the Steam Community system.

Valve encourages developers to get in touch with it in order to easily add the Trading Cards to their titles.
