Gearbox Software has just confirmed that its next big game, Borderlands 2, is now available for pre-order at various digital distribution services from all over the world, not just at retail stores.

Borderlands 2 is set to appear this September on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms.

In order to drum up the hype for the role-playing shooter, developer Gearbox opened up pre-orders some time ago, offering the regular game as well as two special Collector’s Editions filled with all sorts of goodies.

Now, the studio has also confirmed that the game’s PC version is available for pre-order at various digital distribution services. These include: Steam, GameStop, Amazon, Gamefly, Metaboli, Gamersgate and Greenman Gaming.

All digital pre-orders will include access into the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, and all the bonuses that are given to members, plus a free download of the Mechromancer DLC that’s going to be released after the launch of the game.

What’s more, the original Borderlands, as well as its various add-ons, are discounted by 75% at various digital retailers.
