Players will get an experience with a better narrative angle

Borderlands 2 will ask the player to master four new character classes and the developer believes that the most mysterious and challenging of them is the Assasssin, which relies on a sword to run around the battlefield and quickly stab enemies.

Jeremy Cooke, who is the art director working on Borderlands 2, offered some information on the backstory of the Assassin, telling IGN that, “The cool thing about Zer0 is you don’t really know where he’s from or what he’s all about just yet. He’s definitely a bit of a mystery and that’s on purpose…an interesting note about Zer0 is his real name is not Zer0.

“That’s what everyone calls him because every time he assassinates someone he displays a zero on his faceplate so he’s just known as Zer0.”

The Assassin will be the only character to prefer bladed weapons and that means that some of the weapon customization options available to others will be off limits for him.

Players will be able to enhance the melee abilities of the Assassin when they level up the character and will get other in-game tools to supplement the lack of customizable weaponry.

The Assassin will be suited to those players who found the long range battles of the first Borderlands too restrictive and are interested in getting much closer to their enemies before taking them out.

The development team at Gearbox working on Borderlands 2 says that they are taking all the mechanics of the first game and they are enhancing them, with the main stated aim being to enhance the options that the gamer has.

The world of Pandora will be more open and players will again be able to join with three others in order to get through the narrative side of the game.

Borderlands 2 will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the developers at Gearbox recently announced that the game would be launched on September 18.
