Gold-plated antenna case promises to boost signal strength

Antenna79, a company whose engineers design products with built-in antennas that make wireless devices work more efficiently, are showing off an intriguing iPhone case at CES 2015 that’s said to boost signal strength twofold.

Through its subsidiary, Pong, Antenna79 has been selling anti-radiation cases for a while now. However, the parent company’s real talent lies in boosting wireless signals. Not surprisingly, they booked some time at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year to showcase their expertise.

Now available for purchase

Available for purchase only in black for now (despite being demoed in other colors as well at CES), the Reach79 promises to boost your cellular signal by a factor of 1.6 in general, but its maximum boost is 2x in optimal conditions.

Built using patented technology involving a gold-plated antenna, the Reach79 is the first of its kind, being “performance-enhancing smartphone cases designed for speed,” according to David Vigil, Antenna79 CEO.

Improved cell and data speeds

For some users, the real benefit will come from no longer experiencing dropped calls. Others will reap the benefits of the enhanced data transfer speeds. But most people will probably appreciate the overall improvement, plus the fact that their phones will be protected from drops.

The iPhone 6 version sells for $60 (€50.73), while the model designed to fit the iPhone 6 Plus costs $70 (€59.18).
