Heavy downloader are we? Well, if "heavy" doesn't mean a bunch of songs and a couple of wallpapers per day to spice things up, then Speed Download 5 is what you need. Yazsoft is now making available a turbo-charged download manager with auto-resuming downloads, a file sharing utility with full encryption, a fully featured secure FTP client and complete .Mac/iDisk/WEBDAV connectivity, all this in one application.

The more new software you download, the more fuss is involved
when having to start collecting, and managing them. One of Speed Download 5's best features is just this: it collects together and organizes all your downloads. The feeling of reward is comparable to that of getting the newspaper from your dog's mouth.

Regarding other nifty features, users will find that SD5 includes an overhauled interface with various view modes, a re-engineered 'universal' download engine optimized for maximum performance, as well as a powerful database to manage all your downloads, uploads, and file transfer.

The new, fully featured, built-in FTP client uses encrypted file sharing between SD5 users, while a high performance utility for downloading web content for offline viewing is also available. Mac iDisk integration, auto-resuming file transfers all the time, unlimited UNDOs and smart folders are just additional features to everything listed above, and there's even more SD5.

Like this added bonus on behalf of Yazsoft who has included a link to Transmission, (a free, lightweight BitTorrent client featuring an efficient, cross-platform back-end).

Speed Download is touted as "the fastest, and most complete download manager for Mac OS X" no matter what browser you use, being optimized for any Internet connection (dial-up or broadband).

Still, all these nifty features are seemingly nothing but a mask for bait and switch" tactic of getting you to pay the big bucks, so why don't you have a look at what some users have reported on the OPINIONS AND REVIEWS page of Speed Download 5.0.0.
