“Boondock Saints” became a cult hit despite the fact that critics thrashed it mercilessly. The 2009 sequel “Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day” disappointed terribly at the box office, but perhaps a threequel will make things right again.

Star Norman Reedus confirms for IFC that a third film is currently in the pipeline.

Granted, the possibility of yet another film was always there but, this time, fans actually have something concrete to hang on.

“I’m in L.A. right now,” Reedus tells IFC.

“I’m meeting with [star] Sean [Patrick Flanery] and Troy tonight. I just landed a couple hours ago and tonight I’m going over to Troy’s [Duffy, the director] house with Sean. It’s definitely in the works. Look for it. It’s gonna be crazy,” he adds.

“Boondock Saints” came out in 1999 and was an ultra-violent story of revenge and vigilantism centered on the McManus brothers.
