You can now watch the cartoon capers of Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny and Popeye on your UMTS phone display because Vodafone has launched the new Boomerang cartoon channel on MobileTV. Vodafone UMTS customers can watch their favorite cartoon classics all day long while they are waiting at the bus stop, sitting in the train, at the café or in the park. Boomerang guarantees best mobile TV entertainment.

The colorful cartoon world gives kids, teens and adults an abundance of excitement, fun and slapstick. That's why Vodafone
decided to launch Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) Europe's new 24-hour German channel, Boomerang, on its MobileTV service. Boomerang broadcasts timeless cartoon classics, such as The Flintstones, Popeye, Sylverster and Twee-ty, Bugs Bunny and Looney Tunes, and Tom and Jerry 24 hours a day.

It's a TV channel that the whole family can enjoy and it supplements the comprehensive choice of 32 channels on Vodafone MobileTV. A program preview function enables viewers to see what is currently being shown on each channel. The Vodafone live! Portal's homepage also includes recommendations and information about the day's TV highlights.

The Vodafone MobileTV service differentiates between top entertainment channels and basic channels. Unlimited national use of the 8 basic channels is free of charge. The top entertainment channels are offered in three different monthly packages with defined free view time. Customers can choose from a TV flat rate and the Top Entertainment Packages L and M. After a free trial month, the flat rate is ten euros a month for unlimited TV viewing around the clock. The Top Entertainment Package L includes two hours of MobileTV for the fixed rate of five euros and the Top Entertainment Package M includes one hour of TV for three euros a month. These two packages also come with one free trial month. The free view time can be used up over the month in 5-minute increments. When the free view time is used up, each minute of Mobile TV viewing costs EUR 0.15.

To use the MobileTV service, you need a UMTS-capable phone, UMTS network coverage and a Vodafone customer contract with a UMTS bonus, e.g. in the Vodafone CombiPackage At Home 50 tariff with 24-month minimum term, one-off connection fee of EUR 25, a monthly package price of EUR 20 and standard domestic call rates of up to EUR 0.60 /min. Vodafone currently offers UMTS network coverage in 1,800 German towns and cities.
