Film director Lee Tamahori, age 55, who directed Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry in "Die Another Day", was sentenced
on Thursday to three years probation for allegedly offering sexual services to a Los Angeles police officer.
Tamahori, who made macho thrillers like "The Edge" and an episode of "The Sopranos," and movies like 'Along Came a Spider,' 'Mulholland Falls' was accused of getting in an undercover officer's car on Santa Monica Boulevard the night of January 8 and proposing to perform oral sex for money.
It is said that the director was cross-dressing, wearing a long black wig, a dress, girlie makeup and accessories. He was arrested as part of a Hollywood gay prostitution crackdown.
The director pleaded guilty to trespassing, and prosecutors dismissed charges of soliciting and loitering, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The New Zealand-born filmmaker didn't have to show up in court to cut the deal, but he is also required to perform 15 days of street cleaning or graffiti removal and attend an AIDS awareness class.
Tamahori`s attorney, Mark Geragos, said after the hearing his client was back at work and 'pleased with the disposition’, according to New York Daily News.
