14 DAY TRIAL // Canadian mobile phone carrier Rogers wireless is reportedly gearing up for the release of a series of new, highly appealing smartphones, including the just announced BlackBerry Bold 9780, along with the Palm Pre 2, which went official last week.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780, one of the smartphones Research In Motion was expected to make official ever since several months ago, was unveiled officially today.
The Canadian handset vendor announced that it plans on making the new Bold 9780 smartphone available for purchase via various wireless carriers around the world, and Rogers would be one of those to make it available in the near future.
According to a recent article on MobileSyrup, the operator already went official with plans to make the new smartphone available on its network.
Unfortunately, Rogers did not unveil specific info on the availability and pricing of the new device, but did provide an image with Bold 9780 branded for its network.
As for the Palm Pre 2 smartphone, no confirmation on its arrival at the wireless carrier emerged, but the aforementioned news site managed to grab a series of live photos with the device, showing clearly that it would be released on Rogers.
HP, the company which bought Palm in spring, announced officially that Canadian users would be able to get the phone in the coming weeks, and no specific info on the matter was unveiled.
However, MobileSyrup notes that the source code on Palm Canada website unveiled last week the upcoming launch of this device via this carrier in Canada: “The Palm Pre 2 phone is available on the Rodger’s network.”
The aforementioned photos with the Palm Pre 2 sporting Rogers branding come as further proof.
Of course, while we know that the webOS 2.0 mobile phone would soon make an appearance at Rogers, it still remains to be seen when exactly that would happen, as well as how much would the carrier ask for the new device.
