Boingo Wireless and free-hotspot.com have teamed up to offer Boingo customers free access at all the Wi-Fi locations of free-hotspot.com. iPhone and iPod touch users, as well as MacBook owners, will benefit from uninterrupted Internet sessions, free of advertisements. Free-hotspot.com's network currently sports more than 3,500 locations in 18 countries throughout Europe.

However, free-hotspot.com isn't planning to stop here. Since it quadrupled its network size in 2007, the company's prospects now feature some 5,000 hotspots by the end of 2008, making it one of the fastest growing networks in the world, according to the official announcement. All hotspots are accessible via one single account. Boingo has aggregated more than 100,000 hotspots across the globe, as it provides access to the world's largest network of Wi-Fi hotspots.

"We are pleased to extend our reach by partnering with a dynamic company like free-hotspot.com. Their rapidly growing network is a great complement to our business and personal traveler user base and will provide our customers with more choices and options as they move around Europe," said Luis Serrano, Vice President, Network Strategy for Boingo.

"We are excited about teaming up with a worldwide market leader such as Boingo," said Brandon Meyers, free-hotspot.com's Vice President, Marketing. "Their large established user base can now use hotspots across our entire European footprint, which includes previously underserved areas in Eastern Europe such as Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic."

So, basically, you get three months of free Wi-Fi-ing, if you're lucky enough to be in the range of one of the 3,500 hotspots. As an iPod touch user, for instance, you will be able to browse the content on the App Store for free, and download free applications to your heart's content.

Both Boingo Wireless and free-hotspot.com consolidated their position as innovative companies within the wireless industry by each winning a WBI Award in 2006. Boingo Wireless won "Best Aggregator/Wholesaler," while free-hotspot.com got the "Best Public Wi-Fi Product" award.
