Chinese cybercriminals appear to be running this operation

NatWest customers are advised to be cautious in case they receive an email entitled “Customer Satisfaction Survey” as it is part of a cybercriminal campaign, likely operated by Chinese cybercriminals.

“You have been selected to access the NatWest Survey and win a 100 Pounds gift certificate. Please Click Here and complete the form to receive your reward. Thank you. This is an automated message. Please don't reply,” reads the bogus email.

Of course, as always, no one will receive the prize money. Instead, the fraudsters who launched this campaign are using the incentive to attract users to their malicious website.

We couldn’t precisely determine what the site – registered in Hong Kong - serves because it has been taken offline. However, it’s most likely a phishing website that’s after the online banking credentials of unsuspecting NatWest clients.

If you have encountered this email and have fallen for the scam, be sure to notify the financial institution at once.
