Jodie Marsh, once the most scandalous glamor girls from the UK, is now barely recognizable. She's transformed herself and revamped her career, and she is now a reality star and competitive bodybuilder. She says this new hobby saved her life.

Marsh has never been shy of speaking about her personal life – and this includes the dark thoughts she had at one point in her life, right after she came out of Celebrity Big Brother.

In a new interview with The Sun, the former glamor model says it's bodybuilding that saved her life because, for the first time ever, she has confidence in herself and, as such, sees her future in vibrant colors.

“About six months after Celebrity Big Brother I decided I was going to kill myself. The quickest way to do it was to drive my truck into a post, so I started working out which one to use and how fast I’d need to be going,” Jodie says.

Bullying pushed her to consider such an extreme method.

“I was sick of everyone being so horrible to me. I’d walk down the road and people would say, 'You’ve got a dodgy nose, you’ve got saggy [breasts]' and they’d think that was fine. If I didn’t respond, they’d throw something at me – usually a bottle or drinks can,” she explains.

“I just got worn down by it. All I could think about was that I needed to drive myself into one of these poles. But I didn’t do it. I got to the pub [to meet my brother] sobbing. I was having a meltdown,” Jodie recalls.

As you can see in the video embedded at the end of this article as well, this is not the first time that Marsh admits to have considered suicide as an easy way out.

Since she's started bodybuilding, though, Jodie feels like she's been given a new lease on life, as clichéd as that may sound.

She is optimistic about the future and, just as important, no matter what people say to or of her, she is confident enough not to mind them.

“I can honestly say these are the best years of my life. I can’t even describe how good it is just to finally feel like I am doing something positive,” she says.

“I’ve always wanted to do something good but people would never take me seriously. Now they are. I feel so fit and healthy and ripped and strong. It’s so good to put the bad times behind me,” Jodie adds.

Her fans must already know that she's documented her transformation for a new reality series. Just recently, she won a championship in DC and it too will be featured on “Jodie Marsh: Brawn in the USA,” on June 20.
