14 DAY TRIAL // Softpedia was the first to announce today, ahead of the official announcement, that the final release of the highly anticipated Bodhi Linux 3.0.0 computer operating system is available for download. Exactly 12 hours after our blog post, Jeff Hoogland officially announced the immediate availability of Bodhi Linux 3.0.0 for PCs and Chromebooks.
After three RC (Release Candidate) versions, the minimal and enlightened Bodhi Linux 3.0.0 distribution comes with the latest and greatest Enlightenment E19.3 graphical desktop environment, which includes a large number of improvements and many bugfixes.
“Our stable release is not the only thing that is new at Bodhi Linux this month. Our main website, AppCenter, Wiki, and Forums have all gotten complete overhauls to go alongside this new release. A big thank you goes out to our Web Admin, Sys Admin, and the community populating the fresh wiki for all of their hard work,” was stated in the official release announcement.
It comes with Terminology 0.8.0, ePad 0.9.0, and Midor 0.5.9
As pointed out by one of our readers, several packages have been added and others removed from Bodhi Linux, which means that the OS comes pre-loaded with the futuristic Terminology 0.8.0 terminal emulator, ePad 0.9.0 text editor replacing Leafpad, Ephoto image viewer, as well as the Enlightenment file manager.
Additionally, the distribution features the lightweight Midor 0.5.9 web browser, which includes private browsing capabilities. Bodhi Linux 3.0.0 is now powered by the Linux 3.16 kernel and based on the Ubuntu Core 14.04.1 LTS (Trusty Tahr) operating system. The default icon theme is now Numix.
Download Bodhi Linux 3.0.0 right now from Softpedia.
