The stunning photo was taken by a man named John Bailey on a beach in Florida's Sebastian Inlet State Park

Just days ago, a man named John Bailey chanced to witness a most amazing scene while exploring a beach in Florida's Sebastian Inlet State Park.

Thus, the man saw a bobcat plunge into the nearby water, sink its teeth into a shark and then drag the unlucky ocean dweller back to shore, presumably to eat it.

John Bailey had a camera with him and photographed the bobcat's rather peculiar behavior. The picture he took is available below, so you can see for yourselves just how fierce bobcats can be.

Mind you, the shark that the predatory cat attacked and brought back to land was almost as big as the bobcat. Even so, the feline didn't seem to be afraid of it.

According to wildlife experts, this is normal behavior for bobcats and other big cats. “There is no reason to believe it's fake,” Liz Barraco with the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission said about the photo.

The bad news is that, when it saw John Bailey and realized that it wasn't alone on the Sebastian Inlet State Park beach, the bobcat got scared, abandoned its prey and ran into the nearby woods.

That's right, the bobcat didn't actually get to enjoy its meal. Apparently, humans are way more terrifying to bobcats than sharks could ever hope to be.
